COURSE TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By enrolling in, purchasing, attending, or participating in any course, workshop, educational program, mentorship, event, or training provided by The Grey Area Studios (“The Studio”, “we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you must not enrol in or attend the course.

  1. COURSE INFORMATION

The Grey Area Studios provides educational and informational training services.

Course content, structure, duration, inclusions, instructors, resources, dates, and schedules may be updated, modified, substituted, or improved at our discretion without prior notice.

We reserve the right to make reasonable changes where necessary to improve the learning experience or respond to operational requirements.

  1. EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE ONLY

All courses are provided for educational purposes only.

Participation in any course does not:

• Qualify a participant as a professional tattoo artist.

• Guarantee employment.

• Guarantee an apprenticeship.

• Guarantee mentorship opportunities.

• Guarantee licensing, certification, registration, or approval by any government authority.

• Guarantee business success, client acquisition, income, or future earnings.

Individual outcomes vary significantly based on personal effort, skill, commitment, and circumstances.

  1. ENROLMENT

Enrolment is not considered confirmed until payment has been received and accepted by The Grey Area Studios.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel enrolments at our discretion.

Where an enrolment is declined prior to course commencement, any amounts paid will be refunded.

  1. FEES AND PAYMENT

All fees are stated in Australian Dollars (AUD).

Full payment or approved payment arrangements must be completed before course commencement unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Failure to complete payments may result in suspension or cancellation of enrolment.

Any payment plan arrangements remain payable according to the agreed schedule regardless of attendance.

  1. DEPOSITS

Where a deposit is required:

• Deposits secure a participant’s place in a course.

• Deposits are non-refundable except where required by Australian Consumer Law.

• Deposits may be transferable to another course date at our discretion.

  1. CANCELLATION BY PARTICIPANT

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.

More than 30 days before course commencement:

Refund of fees paid less any non-refundable deposit.

14–30 days before commencement:

50% refund of course fees paid, less any non-refundable deposit.

Less than 14 days before commencement:

No refund.

Failure to attend:

No refund.

Leaving a course early:

No refund.

  1. COURSE TRANSFERS

Participants may request a transfer to a future intake.

Transfers are not guaranteed and remain at the sole discretion of The Grey Area Studios.

Administrative fees may apply.

  1. COURSE POSTPONEMENT OR CANCELLATION

The Grey Area Studios reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, relocate, modify, or cancel any course.

Where a course is cancelled by The Grey Area Studios and no alternative date is accepted, participants will receive a refund of fees paid.

Our liability is limited to the course fees paid.

We are not responsible for:

• Travel costs

• Accommodation costs

• Lost income

• Childcare expenses

• Other indirect or consequential losses

  1. ATTENDANCE

Participants are expected to arrive on time and behave professionally.

Missed sessions may not be repeated or rescheduled.

Certificates may be withheld where attendance requirements have not been met.

  1. STUDENT CONDUCT

The Grey Area Studios maintains a professional learning environment.

We reserve the right to remove any participant whose behaviour is:

• Disruptive

• Unsafe

• Aggressive

• Harassing

• Discriminatory

• Intoxicated

• Inappropriate

Removal from a course due to misconduct will not entitle the participant to a refund.

  1. HEALTH AND SAFETY

Participants must comply with all safety instructions provided by staff.

Participants are responsible for disclosing any medical conditions, injuries, or circumstances that may affect their ability to participate safely.

Participants attend and participate at their own risk.

  1. PRACTICAL TRAINING

Practical training may include demonstrations, exercises, equipment handling, practice materials, synthetic skin, and other educational activities.

Participants agree to follow all instructions provided by instructors.

Participants must not perform any activity outside the scope of instruction.

  1. NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS

We make no guarantees regarding:

• Skill level achieved

• Professional competency

• Artistic outcomes

• Employment opportunities

• Financial outcomes

• Business success

Any examples, testimonials, case studies, or student experiences are illustrative only and should not be interpreted as guarantees.

  1. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All course materials remain the intellectual property of The Grey Area Studios unless otherwise stated.

This includes:

• Manuals

• Workbooks

• Presentations

• Videos

• Downloads

• Educational resources

• Course content

• Branding

• Logos

• Photography

• Training methods

Materials may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, published, sold, shared, uploaded, taught, or repurposed without prior written consent.

  1. RECORDING AND PHOTOGRAPHY

Participants must not record, livestream, photograph, copy, distribute, or reproduce course content without written permission.

The Grey Area Studios may photograph or record portions of courses for educational, promotional, and marketing purposes.

Participants may request in writing not to appear in promotional content.

  1. CONFIDENTIALITY

Participants agree to maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information, teaching materials, and business information disclosed during training.

  1. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Grey Area Studios excludes all liability for:

• Personal injury

• Property damage

• Loss of income

• Business losses

• Indirect losses

• Consequential losses

• Loss of opportunity

Where liability cannot be excluded, liability is limited to the amount paid by the participant for the relevant course.

  1. AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

  1. PRIVACY

Personal information collected during enrolment will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Information may be collected for:

• Course administration

• Communication

• Compliance requirements

• Customer support

  1. FORCE MAJEURE

The Grey Area Studios shall not be liable for delays, interruptions, or cancellations resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

• Natural disasters

• Government restrictions

• Public health events

• Utility failures

• Transport disruptions

• Emergencies

  1. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
